Directions

By Car:

We are located off the 10 freeway in Santa Monica. Take the Cloverfield exit coming westbound, or the 20th Street exit eastbound. We are at the northwest corner of Olympic Boulevard and 17th Street, one mile east of downtown Santa Monica.

By Bicycle:

KFA is accessible via a dedicated bike route on 17th Street. From points east or west, take the bike lane along Broadway and turn south onto 17th Street. You’re welcome to bring your bike inside and park it with our employee bikes.

By Public Transportation

KFA is accessible via the Expo Line which is within one block of the Colorado/17th Station. Also, Los Angeles Metro Lines 720 (Wilshire Boulevard), 704 (Santa Monica Boulevard) and Santa Monica Big Blue Bus Lines 10 (Freeway Express), 20 (Expo Culver City) and R7 (Pico Boulevard) connect KFA with points east. Locally, Big Blue Bus Lines 5, 6 and 11 have stops within a short walk of KFA.

JOB OPPORTUNITY

Job Title : Architectural Designer
Required : Master’s in Architecture and 24 months experience in architectural design of commercial and mix-use projects.
Special Requirements : Must have demonstrated proficient knowledge of the following: REVIT, SketchUP, Rhinoceros, Keyshot, V-RAY, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Artlantis. Employer will accept demonstrated proficient knowledge gained from employment experience and/or academic coursework. An architects’ license is not required. All work performed by the Architectural Designer will be supervised by a licensed architect.
Duties : The Architectural Designer is responsible for scale drawings and architectural designs using computer-aided design tools and plans/designs structures, including commercial buildings and mixed-use development structures. The specific duties include the following:

  • Manage the presentation of three-dimensional (3D) visualization for architectural and interior projects, using REVIT, SketchUP, Rhinoceros, Keyshot, V-RAY, and Artlantis to create and develop design models and produce graphics;
  • Apply Revit to compile civil or survey drawings to create a comprehensive site plan for context analysis, 3D modeling, or report graphics;
  • Model, render, and montage rendered images into project site photos with people and context;
  • Plan or design structures, including commercial buildings and mixed-use development structures;
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary;
  • Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans;
  • Collect information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time;
  • Integrate engineering elements into unified architectural designs and layout and plan interior room arrangements for commercial buildings using computer-assisted drafting (Revit) equipment and software.
