BEYOND THE STATS

  • KFA is designing a mixed-use, market hall and 160 unit residential-complex at 639 S. La Brea Avenue, immediately north of the future Wilshire/La Brea Station. The project is a 12-story building featuring 146 market rate apartments, 14 units of very low income housing, a market food hall, ground-floor retail space and a rooftop restaurant.
  • The project is in the entitlements phase and community outreach is ongoing.
  • Recently KFA has added a 35,000 creative office component to the project making a three-use building with circulation, amenities and parking specific to each use.
  • The project is designed to recognize the strong tradition of art deco architecture in the local area while updating it to contemporary detailing and simplicity of style. The design is based on prominent vertical articulation and stepped massing of the 12 story tower.
