Meadows School Center for the Arts & Master Plan
Las Vegas, NV
|The Meadows School
Located at the campus entrance, the Meadows Center for the Arts is the focal point of both vehicular and pedestrian circulation. Designed to be the signature building of the school, the Center anchors the northeast quadrant of the campus mall, around which other academic and athletic facilities are arranged.
In addition to the music and art wings the building contains a 340-seat theater with lobby, dressing rooms, green room, stagecraft workshop, and a black box theater. A bell tower and entry portico columns topped with large polycarbonate lanterns announce the center to the students and the school community. Generous outdoor spaces encourage informal interaction and socializing, and can also be used for smaller performances.
KFA’s long-standing association with the Meadows School began in 1985 with the Campus Master Plan. The first phase, including the completed Master Plan and construction of the Lower and Middle Schools, a gymnasium, and a library, was completed in 1991. The Beginning School was completed in 1999. The Center for the Arts was completed in 2000.
