Job Title: LANDSCAPE PROJECT MANAGER

Join our collaborative design practice as a Project Architect to work on inspiring and significant projects in and around Los Angeles, California.

  • Manage the design process of open space and site work for multi-family developments, public parks, schools, and other outdoor open spaces;
  • Lead internal team(s) working on multiple projects;
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff;
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and scope;
  • Perform technical review(s) of construction documents;
  • Become involved in the development and evolution of KFA’s Landscape Architectural practice.

 

Desired Skills and Experience
  • 10 – 15 years related experience;
  • Great communication skills;
  • Licensure is preferred;
  • Understanding of construction documents, drawings, and specification;
  • Proficiency in Autocad, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up or similar 3-D tools;
  • Planting and irrigation design skills.

Job Title: PROJECT MANAGER

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary contact with client and is responsible for client satisfaction;
  • Manage multiple projects from design through construction closeout;
  • Develop and manage project work plans, budgets and project schedules, assessing staffing needs and performance;
  • Responsible for completeness and resolution of the design;
  • Ensures thorough documentation of the project through drawings and specifications;
  • Awareness of contractual obligations and generate proposals as directed by the partner;
  • Monitor fees, contracts, and project invoicing;
  • Manage internal production workflow and team, planning goals and resources to meet project schedule and milestones;
  • Create details that reflect the design intent of the project.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience (min 5 years experience in multi-family residential);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team/ junior staff;
  • Licensure preferred but not required;
  • Knowledge of Revit 2023 is preferred but not required;
  • Knowledge of Type I, III, & V construction;
  • Working knowledge of building codes, industry standards, building construction, and building structures with the ability to layout a code compliant fit plan;
  • Experience in mixed-use, community and/or multi-family residential projects preferred;
  • Experience in managing the completion of architectural design projects;
  • Experience in Construction Administration.

Job Title: SENIOR PROJECT ARCHITECT

Join our collaborative design practice as a Senior Project Architect to work on inspiring and significant projects in and around Los Angeles, California.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the execution of the design throughout the project;
  • Supervise and lead technical project coordination with consultant team;
  • Communicate frequently and clearly with the project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and permitting officials in collaboration with the project manager;
  • Bring concerns, problems and proposed solutions to the project manager;
  • Lead projects independently while guiding and managing internal production workflow and team. Plan and implement goals and resources to meet project schedule and milestones;
  • Create details that reflect the design intent of the project;
  • Perform work in a timely manner to meet the project schedule;
  • Support, direct and mentor junior staff;
  • Interface with clients regularly to align expectations and drive the project forward;
  • Coordinate and participate in project design efforts.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 12+ years of experience;
  • Licensure required;
  • Completion of five-year accredited architectural program or graduate of four-year architectural program;
  • Knowledge of Type I, III, & V construction;
  • Experience in mixed-use, community and/or multi-family residential projects preferred;
  • Strong management and organization;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, guiding and supporting junior staff;
  • Ability to advance a project through all phases of production from early conceptual design through Construction Administration;
  • Ability to multitask on multiple concurrent projects;
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator);

Job Title: CA SUPERVISOR

Join our collaborative design practice as a CA Supervisor to work on inspiring and significant projects in and around Los Angeles, California.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage construction administration of multiple projects from bidding through construction closeout;
  • Lead internal team(s) working on one or more projects in CA phase;
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff working on CA projects;
  • Involvement in the evolution and implementation of KFA’s CA Standards;
  • Manage architecture project budget, schedule, and scope;
  • Perform technical review(s) of construction documents.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 15 years minimum of Construction Administration experience;
  • Licensure is preferred;
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications;
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, substitution requests, and other CA processes;
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Plangrid, Procore or similar CA tracking programs;
  • Revit – Basic skills and understanding of Revit 2023 and older versions;
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud and Google Docs/Suite;
  • Working knowledge of building, fire, and accessibility codes;
  • Working knowledge of the Los Angeles Building Department permit process;
  • Extensive knowledge of Types I, III, & V construction and experience with mixed-use/multi-family projects;
  • Excellent supervision, management and communication (verbal/written) skills;
  • Able to calmly handle high-pressure situations and able to work well with different teams, including General Contractors and Construction Managers.

Job Title: Office Coordinator (Part-Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Office Coordinator to support the daily operations of our architecture firm. The ideal candidate will assist with administrative tasks, maintain office organization, and provide support to our Office Operations Manager to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other communications
  • Assist with data entry, document preparation, and basic reporting
  • Maintain and organize office files, records, and supplies
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries

Office & Facilities

  • Order and restock office and kitchen supplies
  • Keep the office kitchen tidy, including running the dishwasher as needed
  • Assist with office organization and improvement projects

Events & Scheduling

  • Schedule appointments and coordinate meetings
  • Support setup, management, and cleanup of internal/external events
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and friendly manner

Other

  • Perform additional clerical or office-related tasks as assigned

Schedule

  • Monday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Tuesday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Previous administrative or office experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
  • Friendly, professional demeanor and a “no task too small” attitude
