Project Designer
KFA is seeking enthusiastic, creative, and critical thinkers to join our collaborative design practice as a Project Designer.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for initiating and coordinating project design vision;
- Develop multiple design options through an iterative and collaborative design process; working independently or with a team;
- Act as steward of the design throughout all phases of the project;
- Prepare design presentations and packages for client and community meetings;
- Receive and implement design critique feedback from clients and team members.
Desired Skills And Experience
- Five to ten years of experience;
- Licensure preferred but not required;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- Strong design intuition and ability to provide design critique
- Knowledge of Types I, III, & V construction including mixed-use, community and residential projects;
- Proficiency in Sketchup or Rhino, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) preferred;
- Working knowledge of building codes, industry standards, building construction
- Ability to manage and mentor junior staff
- Excellent communication and graphic skills

BIM Coordinator
KFA is currently seeking a full-time, experienced BIM Coordinator to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining coordination and productivity across a diverse portfolio of architectural projects, including multi-family housing, transit-oriented developments, mixed-use environments, and adaptive reuse projects. We are looking for a unique individual who combines high proficiency with Autodesk’s Revit Construction Cloud platforms and a passion for Architecture. The position entails supporting and maintaining a complete set of means and standards across an entire office and suite of projects as well as participating in the production and execution of architectural projects.
The ideal candidate is a Revit and BIM expert. This position will collaborate with the Senior BIM Manager and be responsible for refining and updating all office and project standards, templates, families, and libraries – as well as providing active and direct assistance to Revit project teams. We anticipate that the BIM Coordinator will divide time between providing firm-wide Revit assistance and support and participating as an active project contributor.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Contribute to the documentation, dissemination, and monitoring of office standards, industry best practices and industry advancements under the guidance of a senior BIM Manager.
- Participate in the development and creation of digital assets such as families, templates, details, and the maintenance and archival of digital libraries.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings to identify tasks and issues relating to project teams and collaboration; identify and resolve project specific issues in setting up and working with Revit models.
- Assist design teams in the initialization of cloud based BIM projects and facilitates the coordination and communication between the architecture team and third party consultants.
- Ensure that all members of the project team and consultants are following the means and methods outlined in the BIM execution plan.
- Reliable go-to person for any BIM and Revit related issues that may arise.
- Participate in occasional team meetings to help resolve project issues such as coordination, scheduling, and technical concerns.
- Enforce the usage of digital library templates and assets per office digital guidelines across all our projects.
- Work with project teams to draft architectural site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
- Responsible for assisting in providing Revit training through a combination of onsite and/or online training courses – geared towards new employees and focused on the essentials of Revit in order to quickly build an experience base for new users.
- Assist the IT team in the deployment and updating of new and existing software so that all of our Revit users have the appropriate tools, add-ins and skills to be productive.
Desired Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Architectural Design or BIM A.S. Degree or equivalent;
- 3-5 years AEC working experience, preferably in an Architecture firm;
- Knowledge of professional architectural practice standards, project delivery and levels of development (LOD);
- Extensive knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD;
- Extensive knowledge of Revit family and template editors, including parametric family creation;
- Experience in visual programming for Revit (i.e. Dynamo);
- Extensive knowledge of Autodesk’s Construction Cloud platform, specifically in file and project management;
- Experience with multi-user project management, including Bluebeam Sessions and Autodesk’s Design Collaboration, Project Coordination and Build;
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion and other 3D/Rendering software;
- Collaborative attitude and effective written and verbal communication skills.
