This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a sadness, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! – They may be clearing you out for some new delight…
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

GINO MONTANO, AIA

Gino’s curiosity for architecture was sparked during his early childhood in Mississippi, venturing through tracts of unfinished homes to play with friends until sunset. After his family relocated to Dallas, Texas, he developed an interest in how people interact with the built environment. Traveling during his undergraduate and graduate studies cultivated a deep understanding of urban form, light, and the cultural nuances of housing in different countries. Professionally, Gino has worked on hospitals, universities, spent three years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and an addition to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. Yet, his true passion lies in housing, driven by his belief that thoughtfully designed, quality housing is a basic human right. Outside of work, Gino enjoys traveling, exploring neighborhoods on foot, working out to balance his indulgent pizza and pasta intake, and attempting to win over his cat – who unfairly favors his partner.
