Karen Stasevich Circle Headshot

The street is the river of life of the city, the place where we come together, the pathway to the center.
— William H. Whyte

Karen Stasevich, ASLA

Karen grew up surrounded by forests and lakes in rural Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. She continued studying the Middle East abroad and developed an obsession with public outdoor space whilst living in a place with very little. After visiting Los Angeles and falling in love with the city’s vibrant culture and proximity to mountain wilderness, she decided to move there. She graduated from the Landscape Architecture program at UCLA and has since worked on projects ranging from ultra high end residential to affordable housing and public school yards. Streetscapes and the transitional spaces between public and private are Karen’s favorite things to design because they are full of opportunities to incorporate nature, draw people together, and improve quality of life in an egalitarian environment.
