If architecture is any good, a person who looks and listens will feel its good effects without noticing. — Carlo Scarpa

Melissa Diracles

Melissa discovered architecture through an early love for history. During her undergraduate studies at Tufts University, she found architecture to be the best way to engage her degree in a contemporary field. Melissa appreciates the way building design remains visionary and future-facing, while always working within urban contexts. Originally from Minneapolis, Melissa decided to stay in the warmth of Los Angeles after graduate school at SCI-Arc. Melissa has 15 years of experience working for notable firms in San Francisco & Los Angeles. After spending nearly a decade working on international and domestic, commercial, mixed-use, and civic projects, she is excited to engage with local projects that will leave a positive impact in ever-changing Los Angeles. Melissa loves a happy client, and always looks to humanize larger projects to benefit the way a resident will use and experience their new space. At home, Melissa spends time building Lego and Magnatile structures for her two little boys to demolish.
