BEYOND THE STATS

• 1447 Lincoln is a mixed-use building occupying a site at a major intersection, Lincoln and Broadway, in Santa Monica. By using formal and crisp language as a response to its Lincoln Boulevard location, the project creates a contrast with the casual forms, colors and historic Quonset hut of its adjacent sister building, 829 Lincoln.
• At the prominent corner, the project’s clear geometric forms are broken by an open plaza that features outdoor seating, accent lighting, and a large sycamore tree. This plaza has become a lively pedestrian-oriented public space in downtown Santa Monica.
