BEYOND THE STATS
- Our design for the Bel Air adds 50% more space to the neighborhood-favorite Brentwood restaurant, plus a two-level, 7,500-square-foot office building. Although the existing building and new construction are separate structures, the design creates the impression that the former and new buildings are one.
- The major element of the design is the two-story entry lobby, dramatized by a full-height glass curtain wall that links the two structures. Created by artist Amanda Weil, the wall is a profusion of translucent red bougainvillea, welcoming the restaurant’s patrons and office workers, and providing a nighttime beacon to drivers on Sepulveda and the 405.
