BEYOND THE STATS
- Safe Landing is a 172-bed shelter and short-term bridge housing project located in the West Athens neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
- Safe Landing is a first-of-its-kind, a comprehensive, clinically-enhanced interim housing site that will help individuals who are experiencing homelessness gain access to immediate and essential clinical services, and transition to appropriate, service-enriched permanent housing.
- The 90,000 sf campus has an intake clinic, an administration building, a kitchen/dining facility, a men’s dormitory, a women’s dormitory, and a couples dormitory. Each building is color coded for way-finding. Adults or couples who are at least 18 years old will be served.
- All families with children under the age of 18 will be connected to the Los Angeles County Coordinated Entry System for Homeless Families in order to connect them with immediate and suitable services.
- A triage and detox center with 36 beds are set aside for those under the influence.

Helen Keller Park
This 7-acre park located in South Los Angeles is named after Helen Keller, who was known as “the first lady of courage”. At the age of 19 months, she lost her sight and hearing because of meningitis but against overwhelming odds, she waged a seemingly impossible battle to re-enter the world she had lost. Helen Keller Park is known for its ability to create new and exciting programs for the community.
