USC Marshall School of Business Modernization
Los Angeles, CA Downtown Los Angeles
- Client : University of Southern California
- Completion Date : 2007
- Project Type(s) : Education
BEYOND THE STATS
- The Marshall School of Business at USC embarked upon an ambitious modernization of their two primary facilities, Hoffman Hall and Bridge Hall, to insure the University’s continued success in attracting the very best students and faculty. The renovation of Bridge Hall, built in the style of the campus’ Romanesque tradition, creates offices on the second and third floors for administration, departmental offices and IT support services. The new trading room provides students with real-time securities market information and distance learning opportunities and doubles as an executive conference room for visiting business luminaries.
- Hoffman Hall is an eight-story, poured-in-place concrete building designed by I.M. Pei and completed in 1965. The renovation, which includes faculty offices, support areas and seminar rooms, remains faithful to the clarity of the original architecture. All of the building’s windows were replaced, the electrical and mechanical systems were upgraded and new finishes were installed throughout.
