BEYOND THE STATS

• Villas at Gower is permanent supportive housing serving transitional age youth, adults and families who are homeless and have special needs. On the ground floor, two large flexible rooms serve as community gathering places as well as gallery space for the display of tenant work.
• The apartments form a metal-clad ribbon that winds through the site, punctuated by three wood-clad volumes. The wood volumes define the gardens and provide a varied landscape of elevated terraces with views of the city and Hollywood hills. A large courtyard creates a community gathering space adjacent to the gallery and meeting rooms and provides views through to the street beyond.
• Exterior circulation and large operable windows provide two-sided natural day-lighting and ventilation. Sun shades respond to facade orientations and a solar hot water system accommodates the entire hot water requirement for the building. The project is LEED Platinum certified.

101 Coffee Shop

• A longtime Hollyw00d establishment, this café is open late and provides customers with delicious food, milkshakes and service that make LA feel like a small down. Don’t miss their homemade pies!
