MONICA MENDOZA

Monica Mendoza is a Latina-Filipina architectural designer native to California. Monica cites her experience in Southern California which includes a culture of diverse heritage, traditions of living, and interpretations of the American Dream. She engages with the fantastical traits of design localized in Southern California that brings storytelling to architecture. During her time in school she explored ways of designing with local vernacular and how to create home. In her years of professional experience she has worked on a variety of projects including housing at different scales. Monica finds peace with long walks in new neighborhoods while observing different ways people have made home. She enjoys mentoring and working with new generations along with other creative expressions outside of work.
